Sri Maha Sorna Bairavi sametha Sri Maha Sornakala Bairavar temple at Thiruvisanallur, built by Bairava Upasakar Sri Vembu Sidhar houses a very unique form Bairavar seen nowhere else in the world. The deity Sornakarshana Bairavar is seated on Pathrapeedam under the boon granting Karpaga tree along with his divine consort Sri Sorna Bairavi. The deity is the giver of health, wealth, spiritual awakening and all prosperity. Participating in the special Poojas conducted on Ashtami, Pournami and Amavasya days is highly fruit bearing. The temple is open for visit on other days and the peaceful ambience of the temple in the midst of paddy fields makes this temple a must visit.
